I offer hypnotherapy as a separate treatment, or I can incorporate it into counselling sessions.
Hypnotherapy - what is it?
A person can change their state of consciousness when they become completely relaxed, or in a trance-like state, while still being aware of their surroundings.
The subconscious mind will absorb positive input in this highly receptive state and a person can have a maximum response to suggested changes in lifestyle or thought pattern. These changes come about by accessing the subconscious, which is where many layers of behaviours and emotions are stored.
Because hypnosis works with the subconscious mind, it is known to help with many habits, behaviours and negative emotions, from smoking, nerves, anxiety, self-confidence, sleep patterns, stress and much more.
Hypnosis can be very effective and powerful, working at a deep level but in a gentle
and relaxing way.
After an initial consultation, sessions are planned to address the client's goals. During the session the client sits and relaxes their body and mind while listening to the therapist talking them through the process. Most clients find this a positive, effective way of tackling problems while benefiting from taking time out for themselves.
